A JCB is a useful machine!
Used the JCB backhoe loader to break down a very old, dead tree and stihl chainsaws to cut into fire wood!
Chipping eucalyptus trees
We cut down some eucalyptus trees behind the house for the fire break, cut them into fire wood and chipped the huge remaining pile of branches and leaves into a mulch for the garden. Filled the whole back of the van!
Cutting wood with our Woodland Mills HM126
One of the many large logs we’ve been cutting, was 510mm diameter. The sawmill can cut up to 660mm, really stable it out. Cuts so cleanly and beautifully.
Compacting and leveling the ground for the garage
We layed down stones and sand, used the Honda GX plate compactor to compact the ground, getting it ready to concrete.
High pressure cleaning the roof
We spent the day on the roof today, high pressure cleaning to make it look stunning. Very happy with the outcome, no poisons or soaps were used as we don’t believe in those, no point in hurting the environment around you to make your living space beautiful. We took our time and patience spraying every inch to make it look as good as we could.
Making a king bed base
We built a king bed base using Eucalyptus from the forest surrounding us, it took us 3 days with the help of a Woodland mills sawmill. We cut them to size using a table saw and a Mitre saw, then got them to the correct thickness using our planer, sanded them to a smooth surface with a belt sander and an orbital sander, joined them using screws and gave it 3 coats of clear varnish, and it was ready to be used.
Clearing out the Well
Hard at work trying to get this well clean and running properly, always finding a way to make things simpler, this time we used the JCB backhoe loader to lower Casey into the well and hold him in place, with our pooch sitting back and watching the hardwork.
